More about Edward Piguet 2636BC Tourbillon White Gold Mother of Pearl Dial

This is an 18k white gold Audemars Piguet “Edward Piguet” 2636BC.OO.D002CR.01. It includes an 18K white gold curved “tank” shaped case with an alligator leather strap, a white gold deployment clasp, and scratch resistant sapphire crystals (curved over the dial). It has a signed large pull-out winding crown and an exhibition sapphire display case back with hallmarks, secured with 4 screws, engraved with “EDWARD PIGUET – TOURBILLON.” The 33mm by 55mm curved, fluted rectangular art-deco style case, half-scalloped lugs, and fluted, curved bezel, are polished/brushed. It has a pink mother-of-pearl dial with applied white gold trapezoidal hour indices, feuille leaf hour and minute hands, and the large circular tourbillon at 6 o’clock shares a constant small second function. The tourbillon’s extended skeletonized movement has been fashioned to represent Galileo's original pendulum design with gold markers and gears, and it’s also visible in another form on the verso. It’s water resistance to 25 meters/80 feet, it has a 70-hour power reserve at full winding, and the dial, case, and movement are all signed. This Audemars Piguet “Edward Piguet” 2636BC.OO.D002CR.01 has a mechanical manual winding AP Caliber 2883 tourbillon movement. It’s very rare with only a handful of examples produced.
